Description:
Illustrated swirls are one of the biggest trends in graphic design. The problem
is that some of the more swirly ones are kind of hard, if not impossible, to make in
Paint Shop Pro. So I've created some for you in Adobe Illustrator that
you can use in your designs. They will be great for many projects.
I'm also including the layered illustration that I made
with some swirls, but without the gradient, so that you can
easily recolor the parts if you'd like.
You can make some unique and very beautiful designs with these, and it's so fun.
These swirls are all in a basic autumn colors, but you can easily change the color in PSP.
Here's how:
1. Drop your swirl into a new layer in PSP.
2. Click on that layer to select it. Set the background color to the current color of the swirl using the eyedropper. Set the foreground color to the color you wish to change your swirl to (you can even choose a gradient or pattern fill if you'd like). Click on the color replacement tool in the toolbar. In the Tool Options, change the tolerance to 200 (you may have to adjust this setting) and left click. Voila! Your swirl is now the color you selected.
You can also reshape the swirls somewhat using the tranform tool. Be sure to use the unsharp mask after.
If you have Photoshop, you can use them as brushes just be sure to flatten the layers
before you do and convert them to black and white. Unfortunately, PSP only allows
500 X 500 pixel sizes for brushes so if you want to save them as brushes in PSP, you'll have to resize them first.
I've also included the seamless tile that I used for the background on this page (without
the watermark, of course) and a variation of it.
I've recently added another swirl collection to the site, which you can download here.
There are 45 royalty free, high-quality clipart PSP images in this package and two seamless background tiles and one layered floral design as seen in the promo above (only without the gradient fill). All of these images have transparent backgrounds (except for the background tiles) making it easy for you to use them as tubes or nozzles--or merely to drop into your design.
The size of these images varies greatly, but most of the swirls are approximately 1000 X 1000 pixels. All are 300 DPI, making them great for print projects. They can be used for personal or commercial projects, including web design, template design, candy wrappers, scrapbooking, etc.
This package is about 9 MB.
